Carl Hester (7519), the legendary dresser and stalwart of Team Great Britain, qualified for his seventh Olympics in June 2024. Hester, 57, is the oldest member of Team GB.
Hester made his debut at the 1992 Barcelona Games, before many of his fellow Olympians were even born. He’s won medals at the last three Olympics, securing his legacy as one of the greatest dressage riders ever.
Alastair Chalmers' (10185) Olympic dream has been realised after a dramatic 400 metre hurdles final at the British Athletics Championships.
Needing to run under 48.7 seconds to qualify for the Olympic Games, Chalmers was initially disqualified after a false start.
Despite that, the Guernsey runner still competed 'under protest' and then proceeded to run a new personal best of 48.54 seconds, diving dramatically across the line as he ran under the Olympic qualification time for the first time.
