Joe Adams (11451) is now in his first full season at the DW Stadium, after arriving midway through the 2021/22 campaign from Eastleigh FC.

The young midfielder grew up in Guernsey before bravely making the move to Southampton at the age of 16 to try and forge a career in the game. He enrolled on Eastleigh's Football Academy programme in the summer of 2021, recieving invaluable coaching from former Spitfires’ Assistant Manager Jason Bristow to aid his development.

He signed for Southern League Division One outfit Sholing shortly afterwards on non-contract terms, becoming a huge hit during the first half of the 2021/22 campaign, making 10 appearances in all competitions for the senior side. His exciting performances didn't go unnoticed, and Joe was recognised on an international basis after he was selected for England Schoolboys U18s for their Centenary Shield fixture in December last year.

Joe signed a professional contract upon arriving at the DW Stadium in February 2022, and just hours after making the move to the North West, the midfielder marked his competitive debut with a goal in Latics' narrow LFA Professional Youth Cup defeat against Rochdale.

Settling in immediatly both on and off the field, Joe has been playing regularly for Latics U21s this term, in addition to being named on the substitutes bench for the first team's Carabao Cup clash against Fleetwood Town in August 2022.
