New Reading Patron at Elizabeth College

Thank you to OE Ross Allen who met with students to celebrate the first birthday of the new library at Perrot Court.

It was a fantastic day in the library last week as we celebrated its first birthday with selfies, biscuits and chatter with Elizabeth College’s new reading patron, OE Ross Allen (9593).

As reading patron Ross will work with students and staff to promote a ‘reading for pleasure’ culture within College. His passion for reading is well-known and first caught students’ attention during his speech at Prizegiving for Years 7-9 in June of last year.

This new partnership will ensure students can talk with Ross on a regular basis, work with him, and hopefully be inspired to be curious and to importantly develop their own love of books and reading. On display in the library today were some of Ross’ favourite books and it is wonderful to see the impact that he is having already on students in sharing his passion for reading, through his work with smaller groups of students and staff.

Thank you to Ross for his support as Elizabeth College’s first reading patron and thank you to our Librarian Miss Henderson for making it such a special celebration.
