Roy Bisson (4861) recently retired after 10 years of WEA Guernsey (www.wea.org.gg), a unique organisation that offers over 40 evening and daytime courses in languages, arts and local studies to over 500 students in the island. Roy, who has been succeeded in the Chair by Chris Meinke (5221), will continue to organise “Economic Viewpoints of Guernsey” started by John Dickson (5251) in 1983.

James Read (8849) has been in the world spotlight at the recent Ashes games in the UK. James leads the sports sponsorship division of Specsavers, and had the honour of presenting series awards to England’s Ben Stokes and Australia’s Steve Smith at the finale of the Specsavers Ashes series. He described it as a moment he will never forget.

Kevin Boscher (6882) has been appointed as Chief Investment Officer of Ravenscroft following the company’s recent growth. Kevin, a regular commentator on CNBC, said “Ravenscroft is going to be a different environment for me, but it’s a change that I relish and look forward to.”

Carl Hester (7519) has won his 10th overall title by winning the Le Mieux National Dressage championship in Warwickshire. He rode the 15 year old gelding that he rode for individual seventh and team silver at the last Olympics. This has brought Karl’s national wins to 68, and means he will be a serious contender for the Tokyo Olympics in 2020.
