Elizabeth College is once again flying the orange flag in support of the Soroptimists campaign to fight against and end gender-based violence.
Guernsey's Soroptimists want to turn the world orange as they begin 16 days of activism in the fight against gender violence. Monday marks the UN International Day of the Elimination of Violence against Women, and the start of the campaign against gender violence, which ends on 10 December – Human Rights Day.
The link below takes you to the article from the Guernsey Press which highlights that whilst this campaign begins with tackling violence against women, the Soroptimists state, ‘We are a women’s organisation, but we acknowledge that this affects all genders. We don’t want to be discriminatory to any one group. It’s talking about healthy and unhealthy relationships, and that’s a huge part of what we’re trying to do with this campaign.’
