John Richardson (8704) has taken his love of the great outdoors to new heights by qualifying as a Rock Climbing Instructor with Mountain Training UK.

John started with the full range of outdoor and adventurous activities at College Games and extracurricular activities and now works with Climb LBG - a Guernsey charity passionate about providing climbing and hill walking activities to those who would not otherwise be able to assess them due to financial, physical or aspirational barriers.

Climb LBG is funded by grants and public donations and is a member organisation of the Youth Commission. The charity aims to give everyone the opportunity to experience climbing and to benefit from the positive impact it can have on physical, social and emotional well-being.

Congratulations to John, it is fantastic to hear how much you enjoyed the benefits of Outdoor Education at Elizabeth College. Mr Aplin's Outdoor Adventurous Activities group remains a very popular option with students at College today.

Although John's assessment was on the gritstone edges of Derbyshire you may well see him leading youngsters on the climbing wall at Le Murier, on the Pond with the Guernsey Sailing Trust or on the granite crags of Guernsey. Give him a wave!
