ECSOC is a much loved fixture in Guernsey’s musical calendar and we know that many OEs will have fond memories of their time on the courses.
‘Scratch’ Concert
The next course on 18 to 23 August 2025 is the 50th anniversary of ECSOC. As part of the celebrations, there will be a gala ‘scratch’ concert on Sunday 24 August, hopefully with a couple concerto movements from former alumni. The idea is to rehearse during the day with the concert in the evening.
Concert Programmes
ECSOC is also hoping to put together a display of past concert programmes, but their archives are missing a few. If anyone has copies for the following dates, they would be glad to hear from you: 1975-80, 1982-86, 1991, 1993, 2020 and 2010.
Sponsorship
Post COVID, ECSOC is finding it a challenge to secure a sponsor, so if you know a company who might be able to help, please get in touch.
Friends of ECSOC
The purpose of the Friends is to provide a financial cushion for the course, and also to allow ECSOC to award bursaries to students whose circumstances would otherwise not allow them to participate. Benefits to Friends are free tickets to the course concerts and any children applying to the course are entitled to the ‘early-bird’ rate even after the deadline of 31 March.
To apply for membership, follow the link below and then click on the ‘apply’ tab on the ECSOC website.

If you would like to be involved in the Gala Concert, or you can help in any of the ways mentioned above, please contact the Course Director, Charlie Cottam at ccottam@me.com.
